2026 Q-grader internship now open: six months in our Medan cupping lab
We are looking for four recent graduates who want to learn to grade coffee professionally. The Q Arabica Grader exam fee is covered by the company.
Every Rimba Raya container is approved on the cupping table. For 2026 we are opening four internship places in our Medan quality lab, mentored by our Head of Quality, Cut Nurul Aini.
What you will learn
- Daily cupping of samples from nine cooperatives, following the SCA protocol
- Physical analysis: moisture, density, screen size, and defect counts
- Sample roasting and flavour calibration with the team
- Preparing type and pre-shipment samples for buyers in 14 countries
Interns who pass our internal evaluation are registered for the Q Arabica Grader exam at the end of the program, with the fee covered by the company.
Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in food technology, agronomy, or a related field, graduated within the last two years
- Able to live in Medan for six months (March–August 2026)
- No cupping experience needed — we look for curiosity and discipline
Interns receive a monthly allowance, BPJS employment insurance, and a field trip to the Gayo cooperatives during the fly crop.
